Over a Year With Ginger!

We have had Ginger for over a year now. She is one crazy little pooch, that loves to get into anything and even loves to recycle. We found that she loves to recycle when I was clearing out the fridge and threw a card board 7UP box on the floor and a few minutes later she ran across the kitchen with it hanging out of her month. The cardboard box is almost as big as she is. We love having her around, even though she's crazy. Her fun today consisted of getting a bath and trim/style from mommy, playing in the backyard with her favorite stick that she scavenged out of the lawn bags, and getting treats by sitting, jumping, and spinning. Oh, and we had nap-time too!

Week of Adventures in Babysitting

For three days this week I watched my two nieces. We went to the pool, to the store, did coloring pages, cleaned the house, made paper flowers, watched Harry Potter (which was their first time seeing it), played wii, read books. I only wished we could have done more, it is hard to do a lot of things when we are low on money :( All in all, I am exhausted. Who knew that babysitting a seven year old and and eleven year old could be so much work. We had our good happy times and our angry-breaking things time (in a way it felt there was more angry times than good times). I wish that there was an easier way to know how to discipline them. I suppose that is not my job though. Oh, well. That brings me to my casualty, the thing that got broke during 'angry time.' We have, well had a set of lamps from Target that is made out of green glass. Now, we just have one of the set. Still on the hunt for the other one, unfortunately Target no longer sells it so I have been looking everywhere online. Here is a before picture of our lamp, the one that is still in one piece. (Note the pictures taken by the hubster!)

BEFORE

AFTER

Such as life. This weekend was good, spent time with hubby just relaxing. We went out late Saturday night to pick up a few groceries and played out in the rain during the storm. I enjoy times like those with him. Ginger made it a fun night too. Stephen mushed a water gallon and made it flat, turned out to be her favorite toy. He threw it like a Frisbee into the entry way and she ran after it. We did this for a good half hour. The funniest thing was to see her jumping over stuff with it in her mouth. Here's to finding fun out of the simple things this week!

Lamb Chop is DEAD whhhaaa! & various crafts

Well we discovered something that Ginger is really into...killing things that are stuffed. First it was her bed padding while she was at Grandma's house then she killed Lambchop. So here are some before and after pictures of the poor girl...
BEFORE

AFTER

As you can tell, the AFTER shot looks like Lamb Chop is throwing up stuffing. We think Ginger had fun with her while it lasted, she has now been put out to pasture.

Moving on, I have done a few crafts while I have been out of school. (Bored out of my mind)...Here a a couple of them. I replace picture frames that had art in them with fabric and string or ribbon in one case and turned it in a photo clip frame. I think it turned out pretty good, but I am biased. I will be posting the rest later but here are the ones I have finished:

Etsy Shop Sale and other Fun things :)

I am having a sale at my Etsy shop...hopefully I will get around to posting more things that I have made. Such as some lamps that I can do for custom and a few more art prints. Can't wait to show them off! Turning to another subject I am deep in my studies for school. It always seems that it gets harder after spring break...luckily I am over half way done with this semester. Ginger will be six months on the 26th of this month. Earlier today I was looking through some old pictures of her and found these two:

This picture above is from end of January...she has changed so much.

And this one is from her first month...she was such a little one :)

Here is a preview of a few pieces I am going to put on my shop.

I won't be posting the new art until this weekend, you can find my shop at the following link: Artsy Fartsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/simsa13?ref=si_shop

Also, I have a huge canvas that measures about 3 feet by 2 feet and I have no idea what to paint so if any readers have suggestions please leave a line and let me know what I should do and I will put it in my shop when finished.

My Verne Loving Ewok

Verne Lover
Note the turtle in her mouth (Verne)

Ginger has been quite the character lately. Her recent fiascoes include the following: her bringing me stuff when I point and ask for it and just being cute (well sorta). The first thing that she started doing this week was to bring me her stuffed Verne turtle from the movie Over the Hedge. A few weeks ago we kept calling the stuffed toy Verne in front of her and asking her to go get it, sometimes she did grab the right toy and then sometimes not but we rewarded her when she got the right one. This was pretty funny to watch.

Go Getter
Then, today I dropped my mascara tube on the floor and it rolled on the floor I was sitting across the room from where it had rolled and Ginger was there with me. I asked her to go get it for me and pointed to where it was. To my surprise she trotted over there sniffed it then ran back to me without it, then I asked her again she did the same thing. However she brought it to me in her mouth and placed it in my hand. How adorable is that? I thought this was hilarious and I laughed out loud.

Ms. Barksalot
Another thing she has started is this deep barking sound that makes her sound a lot bigger than she really is. She seems to do this when she hears someone coming up the stairs, even when it is Stephen. We are going to have to curb her of this since she is starting to get territorial which isn't always a good thing. Especially when we have visitors over.

My Little Ewok

Last night we were watching the last Star Wars movie and when the Ewoks came into play Ginger popped her head up and looked at the screen and the look on her face was an expression of "what is that?" So from that point we decided that she looked so much like an Ewok. Now she is out little crazy Ewok.
All in all we definitely love her and she brings so much joy into our lives, despite the potty messes, her love of chewing paper...to which so far she hasn't got too much of my homework, thank goodness!

The Great Ginger, Houdini over the Gates

Ginger has grown much since I last blogged. She is now almost 6 lbs. and has practically doubled in length. Before Stephen left to go grab some food we put her in her pin to eat and relax, then before I knew it she was right by my side jumping to get up. I was on the couch and her pin was towards the bedroom, so she jumped over it to come to me, crazy! Also, we tried to put tin foil over the top of the gate, she pulled that off and jumped over. We layered the two gates and put one higher than the other, she jumped over that too. Finally we put the second gate up so high that it feels like I am climbing on a horse to get over it.

Here is a video of her doing her Houdini routine. We still love her! I tried to put her back there she kept doing the same thing over and over, our puppy is growing so fast. Plus here are some recent pictures of our fur baby.
